United to explore Lingard-Declan Rice Swap Deal
Manchester United are looking to use Jesse Lingard as a ‘makeweight’ in a deal to sign Declan Rice from West Ham this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are long-term admirers of Rice and are in the market for a defensive midfielder this season, the England international having grown in stature for club and country over the past two seasons.
West Ham are desperate to hold onto the midfielder but could face strong interest in his services this summer, with The Athletic reporting that United will look to use Lingard in part-exchange to get a deal done.

The 28-year-old’s performances saw him recalled into the England squad for March’s World Cup qualifiers, returning to the international side after almost a two-year absence.
West Ham are reportedly determined to do ‘whatever it takes’ to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis, though do not have an option to buy under the current arrangement.
United triggered a one-year extension in Lingard’s deal earlier this season, but are prepared to sell the player this summer given his lack of previous opportunities and his rising stock since signing moving to the capital.
Kylian Mbappe has decided to go to Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappe’s future is beginning to become clear according to a report in Diario AS. The forward is said to want to go to Real Madrid this summer, despite the fact he’s contracted to Paris Saint-Germain until 2022. The PSG board, led by sporting director Leonardo, is said to have offered him a big long-term contract, but Mbappe’s ambition is to move to La Liga.
PSG now need to decide whether to sell him or force him to fulfil the final year of his contract and leave for free next season. Madrid want him to be the star that leads them into the remodelled Santiago Bernabeu and the symbolic future it represents.
They’ve tracked Mbappe close ever since he left Monaco for PSG, at which point they actually tried to sign him. The marksman is said to speak with Zinedine Zidane regularly.
Florentino Perez is said to be willing and able to facilitate significant movement in the transfer market this summer.
Leeds United joins race to sign Aguero
Leeds have emerged as contenders to secure the services of soon-to-be free agent Sergio Aguero.
Aguero recently confirmed he would not be extending his stay with the Premier League champions elect, bringing an end to an illustrious ten-year spell with the club.
Unsurprisingly Aguero has already been noted of a whole host of clubs interested in signing him this summer, with the 32-year-old aware of options in Spain, France, Italy, the Middle East and MLS and he’s said to be ‘pleasantly surprised’ by the interest shown in him so far. The offer from his old club Independiente also has a real chance of taking him back to Argentina.
